Football Team Looking for Upset Victory Over Bosco

Cross-country teams proving they're not to be taken lightly

Ridgewood will have to be ready on Friday night when they square off against Don Bosco, considered by most to be the nation's top football team.

If the Maroons put down what they did against Bergen Tech, they might just have a shot.

Ridgewood's football team got off to a big start for the 2011 season with a 53-0 victory over Bergen Tech in the season opener. The Maroons had a bye week last weekend to prepare for Don Bosco.

The Maroons scored early and often against the Golden Knights, led by Blake Feagles' three touchdowns and 121 yards on the ground. Jason Canella added another touchdown and also 120 yards on the ground in the Sept. 10 Big North battle.

After only being up 7-0 on a Peter Reuter touchdown in the first quarter, the Maroons pulled away in the second quarter with four touchdowns and took a 34-0 lead at halftime.

Ridgewood also received touchdowns from Jason Cannella (4-yard run), Oliver Sippel (8-yard run), Jack Foresman (6-yard run) and a defensive touchdown, a 15-yard fumble return for a score by Dylan Logan.

Head out to RHS Stadium Field on Friday night to see how the Maroons fare.
