Photos: 38th Annual Fred d'Elia Ridgewood Run

Thousands participated in the 38th annual Fred d'Elia Run in Ridgewood on Memorial Day, and Ridgewood was well represented in virtually all race categories.

According to the North Jersey Masters website, 19-year-old Lishan Yigezu of the Bronx paced the field in the 10K, winning with an overall time of 29:17.59.

Ridgewood firefighter Brendan Corcoran was the top finisher from town, running a 36:18.44 10K, good for 15th place. Ridgewood's Shinsuke Adachi placed 16th, six seconds behind Corcoran. Matt Hanley, of Ridgewood, also finished in the top 25 with a time of 36:59.64.

Askale Merachi, of Jackson Heights, NY, led the women in the 10K, finishing the race at 34:32.10. Ridgewood was well represented on the women's side as well, with Misa Tamura, Amy Waters, and Ryan Barney all placing in the top seven on the ladies side.

Kent Edens was the top finisher from Glen Rock, placing 60th in the 10K with a time of 39:24.27. Nancy Broughel was the highest female finisher from the borough, placing 160th overall with a time of 43:34.57. Rob Nihen, of Glen Rock, placed third overall in the 5K with a time of 15:08.31. New York's Eliud Ngetich was the overall 5K winner.

Laurens Molina finished first overall in the 10K wheelchair at 23:46.00. The event was sponsored by the Kessler Foundation. 

Gimma Gebre, of New York City, won the elite mile with a time of 4:01.77. Garfield's Cheyenne Ogletree had the best women's time at 4:59.23.

The Ricatto family (Henry, PJ, John, Claudia and Pamela), of Ridgewood, had the best overall family time in the 5K. Other families in the top ten from Ridgewood were the Daly/Kraemers (3rd), the Adams clan (6th), the Baneys (7th) and the Feiners (9th).
