Home Run Derby a Hit At Faber Field

Event helped raise money for turf field project

On Saturday, the community took to the diamond at Faber Field to get a shot at hitting a few home runs in the first ever Game On Glen Rock softball home run derby. 

The event organized by Game On Glen Rock, which recently had its website hacked, was aimed at continuing to raise money for the project that will cost over $1,000,000 to complete.

Here is how the eight participants in the derby finished:

  • Kevin Bielen, 16 Home Runs
  • Matt Percelli, 14 Home Runs
  • Joe Miele, 14 Home Runs
  • Mike Stewart, 11 Home Runs
  • David Lindley, 8 Home Runs
  • David Campaglia, 2 Home Runs
  • Erik Neubart, 1 Home Run
  • Brian McCullough, 1 Home Run

While most participants swung for three rounds of 15 swings each, Erik Neubart only hit for 2 rounds and Brian McCollough for one, according to Game on Glen Rock chairman Michael Stewart.

Stewart also said that the event raised $500 profit for his group and they are currently plugging away trying to organize another for derby for later this year.
