Lady Panthers Remain Undefeated with Big Shutout Victory
A bevy of goals and great defense are keeping the girls out of the loss column.
Girls Soccer (6-0)
When you score a lot of goals and don't let too many drop in your own net you usually win soccer games.
That's exactly what the Lady Panthers have been doing this season.
With a deep roster talented from goalie to striker, this is a team that is focused on goals.

On Wednesday the team had their first big test of the season, taking on Eastern Christian under the lights in North Haledon. The team responded with a resounding 3-0 win.
Sophie Lederer, Kendall Daly and Hannah Petrone all tallied goals for Glen Rock and Margi Rivara had three saves as the team notched their sixth straight clean-sheet to start the season.

The team defeated Lodi by a score of 2-0 last Friday and they matched their season high total of 8 goals in an 8-0 win over Elmwood Park on Tuesday.
The team is back in action on the road against Mary Help on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Boys Soccer (3-1-1)
After the team suffered a tough 4-0 defeat at the feet of Pascack Hills last Thursday, they needed to respond in order to lift their season.
One goal ended up being all they would need in a 1-0 win over Eastern Christian on Saturday. They followed that up with what the team is calling their best all-around game of the season, a 1-1 tie against Garfield where despite the score, many on the team feel they played their best 80 minutes of the season.
For a team that is infusing so many new players into the starting lineup, they are already beginning to come together. Look for the team to continue to play better as the season moves on and they get more familiar with each other on the pitch.
Football (2-0)
After two weeks of the 2011 season there is no doubt that the Panthers possess an explosive offense. Oh, and check out these scores,they can play some defense too.
After a 27-6 win over Lodi to start the season, the team kicked it into high gear and chewed up Elmwood Park 43-0 to get their second win of the season.
Frank Amoresano and Freddie Pulzello caught touchdown passes from Tim Miller and Diamo Streaser caught one from Mike O'Neill.
Jeff Kopyta scored on a 75 yard interception return in the second quarter as Glen Rock went into the half with a 36-0 lead and cruised the rest of the way.
On Saturday, the team takes on Malcolm X Shabazz High School at home at 1 p.m. They will look to build on their first two wins and move to 3-0 on the year.
For the Panthers, these early wins are key, because their two toughest games come in back-to-back weeks to end the season.
They take on Hawthorne, lead by stellar quarterback Ryan Hollis in the homecoming game and then face off against a strong Saddle Brook team to finish the season in what should be a great game as the two rivals square off right before the playoffs.
Girls Tennis (3-2)
The tennis team picked up two key league victories in the past week, defeating Rutherford and Garfield both by a 5-0 score.
The team did drop a 4 1/2 - 1/2 match to Montville, but they are back in action against Mary Help on Friday.
Cross Country (Boys 3-0 Girls 3-1)
It was another strong performance from the cross country teams on Wednesday at Darlington.
The boys team defeated both Eastern Christian and Pascack Hills, in a meet that may play a major factor in deciding the division.
Tom Heinbockel finished second for Glen Rock, with a time of 17:50.
The Panthers were propelled by a 5th place finish by Jon Leibu (18:07) and a 7th place finish by Andrew Brennan (18:29)
On the girls side, the team defeated Pascack Hills, but lost to highly regarded Eastern Christian.
Kate Scandale finished second for the Lady Panthers with a time of 20:56 to lead the way.
