Village Celebrating Lax Day on Saturday

15th annual day features two televised matches and tons of activities for the kids.

The lacrosse-crazed village will celebrate the sport on Saturday with a wealth of activities, competitions, parades and two televised matches against some of the area's best teams.

The 15th annual "Lax Day" will take place at . Activities, including stick stringing, a bounce house and face painting, begin at 8 a.m. and run through the afternoon before the celebrations and main events begin. After a parade at 12:30 and rendition of the National Anthem sung by RHS senior Lindsay Imbruglia, the Ridgewood High School boys team will take the stage.

The boys – which have played one of the toughest schedules in the state – square off against New York power West Islip. They're no doubt hungry after losing four of five, including a drubbing by Don Bosco Prep earlier in the week.

Both games will be televised by MSG Varsity (channel 14 for Cablevision subscribers). The network will be sponsoring a shooting contest during halftime of the boys game.
