PHOTOS: Lax Day Brings Out the Crowds

15th annual Ridgewood Lax Day showcased the village's favorite sport with games, activities and more.

Stevens and Stadium Field were swarmed with rising lax stars for the 15th annual , held on Saturday.

Teams from all levels in the Ridgewood Lacrosse Association (RLA) ranks played games on a gorgeous sun-soaked day. From the early morning hours throughout the day, kids could cross back and forth over the temporarily-open footbridge to partake in stick stringing, fastest shot competitions, and perhaps get their faces painted or create a ruckus at the bounce house.

Booths lining the outside of the track were stocked with all kinds of gear.

If you were hungry and not too keen on ice cream or Italian Ice, grillmaster Brian Abdoo was quick to toss over a burger or two. He was just one of the countless parent volunteers that celebrated the annual occasion in April.

The event – which was capped by the high school teams taking on well-regarded New York opponents – featured a parade and stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by RHS senior Lindsay Imbruglia, who will attend the Shenandoah Conservatory in the fall.
