Ridgewood Girls Hang On for 9th Straight County Title

Ridgewood felt the pressure of a second half charge from Immaculate Heart but the Maroons clamped down and held on to win the Bergen County title.

The Ridegwood girls lacrosse team won the Bergen County Tournament on Saturday with a 13-10 win over upstart rival Immaculate Heart.

Saturday's victory gave Ridgewood its ninth straight county title and each of the last six have come over Immaculate Heart in the finals.

Ridgewood looked like their dominant selves in the first half as they pulled ahead to a 9-4 lead. The second half was another story. Immaculate Heart came racing back and outscored the Maroons 6-4 in the second half. The effort fell short.
