All-American Goalie Noah Pounds Named One to Watch

The state's top lacrosse goaltender, Ridgewood High School rising senior Noah Pounds, was named by MSG Varsity as one of 30 New Jersey athletes to watch in 2012-2013.

Considered by many to be New Jersey's best lacrosse goaltender, Ridgewood High School's Noah Pounds is receiving pub well in advance of the spring season.

The son of varsity lacrosse coach Mike Pounds, the All-American was recently named as one of 30 players to watch in New Jersey by MSG Varsity.

Named one of the senior captains for the upcoming season, Pounds drew rave reviews for his spectacular saves against powerhouse state champions . Ridgewood ended up losing the heartbreaker 8-7 in the triple overtime.

At the end of his junior season, Pounds was named the Dietrich von Schwerdtner Award winner as the best goalie in New Jersey. The Under Armour All-American selection held opposing offenses down with a 5.56 goals against mark, saving 60 percent of shots.

Pounds, also a skilled varsity football player, will be attending the US Naval Academy upon graduation from Ridgewood High School, according to the MSG Varsity report.

With a wealth of talent back, the Ridgewood lacrosse team is again expected to advance deep in the lacrosse playoffs in 2012-2013.
