Rival Moorestown Downs Ridgewood on Lax Day

Girls team lost 15-8 on Saturday, dropping to 8-4 on the season.

Maggie Carver's five-goal performance Saturday wasn't enough to propel the Ridgewood girls varsity lacrosse team to victory. The Maroons lost to state rival Moorestown 15-8 on Ridgewood Lacrosse Day, falling to 8-4 on the season.

Ridgewood's Katie Smesko scored a pair of goals and Kelly McBrearty notched another, but the Burlington County program's barrage of quick shots from the opening minute were too great to overcome.

Ridgewood is likely to drop from #8 out of the top 10 in the state rankings.
