Two BC Crusaders From Ridgewood Ink with Colleges

Phil Rigoglioso and Ryan Rose committed to Bentley and Rutgers, respectively, last Wednesday.

From Rhode Island and Maryland to Arizona and Illinois and back to New Jersey, 17 Bergen Catholic Crusaders officially inked their NCAA Letters of Intent during a ceremony last Wednesday.

The 17 seniors represented seven varsity teams from football, tennis, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, soccer and golf. Of the athletes, 11 have committed to a Division-1 program with two to Division-2 schools and three competing on the Division-3 level.

Two of the athletes hail from Ridgewood.

Phil Rigoglioso (Bentley University – Football)

A three-year member and two-year starter for the Crusader football team at defensive tackle, Phil Rigoglioso will attend Bentley University. The Boston-bound defensive star hopes to start for the Falcons.

Ryan Rose (Rutgers University – Golf)

A four-year member of the golf team, Ryan rose was a 1st Team All-County golfer as a junior, and won the 2012 New Jersey State Golf Association Junior Championship. Ryan will be attending Rutgers University with a chance to compete at the highest level of NCAA golf. He plans to attend Rutgers Business School.
