Went. Didn't like food. Decor is very dated.

In fairness I only went 1 time but I found the food to be subpar, though the service was good. I cannot recommend.
Can't believe that other review. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ridgewood. Nice people, great food. Try the penne with vodka sauce or the veal milanese. They've been in a business a long time....because the food is great! Quiet place, pretty traditional in decor but really reliable.
Last night my husband and I took my son and his girlfriend out for dinner. It was the first time she’d eaten in a Ridgewood restaurant. This morning we had to apologize to her for the disgusting dinner she wasn’t able to finish at Pasta E Pollo. Halfway through her meal, she stopped eating because she found two very long black strands of hair in her Chicken Marsala. When we tried to show the waiter the hairs, we were all quite shocked when he totally dismissed her complaint and refused to take any responsibility for the hairs. Instead, he insisted that there were no long dark haired people working in the kitchen. Surprised at his response, she tried to show him how the hair was wrapped around the chicken. She even lifted the hairs to show him how they were not simply lying on top. They were twisted around in a way that proved to us that the hairs had gotten in the food when it was being prepared. We all expected that the waiter would apologize, take the food away and bring her another meal. That didn’t happen. Instead, he disregarded her and continued to argue that it couldn’t be the restaurant’s fault. Finally he just walked away. Since he seemed to be the manager or owner, we didn’t feel that we had any recourse. The food was inedible, and she didn’t finish her meal. We won’t go back.

We've eaten at Pasta e Pollo at least ten times and have never had a bad meal. The menu is pretty straightforward, with standard Italian dishes like Veal Marsala that are well prepared with good portion sizes. I was very surprised to read the previous negative reviews. I believe that Pasta e Pollo has the best Italian food in Ridgewood at a reasonable price. The service that we have received has also always been good. We have also done takeout from Pasta e Pollo at least a dozen times, and the takeout food was also good.
