disgusted April 11, 2014 at 10:16 am
So the cops should just let everyone go??? I know there are rules and regs regarding this set forthRead More by the AG. Most jurisdictions are small enough that every pursuit crosses boundary lines.
disgusted April 11, 2014 at 12:47 pm
Suburban cops do have the right to leave their jurisdiction under the right circumstances. HotRead More pursuit under the right circumstances must continue and will continue unless you want total anarchy.
Ron Knox April 11, 2014 at 04:39 pm
yes, we all want total anarchy.........genius comment

The good news is the crackdown on kids driving without the little red sticker has been successfulRead More and driving in the vicinity of a PSE&G work area is now safer.

Lock your boats. This isn't Mayberry. Right? Right?
Jim Timmins April 10, 2014 at 05:14 pm
I thought you weren't allowed to keep boats in your driveway, not saying the person deserved it.JustRead More wondering.

Two comments here. One: the headline; what is non-aggressive car-jacking when one say's 'please mayRead More I have your car'? Two, 'car-jacking went wrong'. I think 'failed' car-jacking is more appropriate. Glad the woman was not hurt.

He has been acting erratic ever since joining forces with Donovan. I witnessed his meltdown when heRead More started a fight with a sheriff's officer during a fundraiser early last year. He is on a dangerous path.

trish, you are being a little too extreme.
Long Time Resident April 14, 2014 at 02:00 pm
trish said .....are we really training our youth to be police? It beats sitting by and watching themRead More become criminals!
trish.durivage April 14, 2014 at 04:23 pm
I don't believe our youth should be focused on crime or looking for the "bad guys". AndRead More long time resident I can see you have no confidence in our youth. JP1 Pay attention...we are being duped.
JJ April 8, 2014 at 07:42 am
That's Great, More officers from the Bergen County PD should be certified ! This way the Presence ofRead More the Officer makes the people at the event feel more comfortable but also lets the officials at the Event know that an crowd Issue's it will be handled by a professional, As well as someone in law enforcement, to up hold the law. [ Or at least we think }
GayReagan88 April 8, 2014 at 10:39 am
Each officer should Carry a pocket bible and the ability to provide judgement and sentencing onRead More site. We would have less sinful parasites; poisonous creatures bred into ignorance by their neglectful parents. Maybe our officers should gain more experience and knowledge than waste their time rotting their minds with sports and other vegetating activities. This town is beyond salvation, I can only hope those with hindsight can absolve themselves through the edifice of catholisim and Christianity. Praise be Jesus, may he strike down all those who worship false prophets such as "Little Wayne" and Glen beck. When the rapture will squeeze the sin and hate out of all our souls, Vishnu will ascend the mountain of time. She will take the form of Kalki and you rapist, democratic, fascist slime.
GayReagan88 April 8, 2014 at 10:41 am
Will feel the pain of the sins you have committed. Kali Yuga will end swiftly, prepare.

DD April 8, 2014 at 07:09 pm
Macko, I'm sure we agree, but to clarify my position on this particular story, I think it's exactlyRead More the type of thing the Patch could, and does, excel at. This is in fact "hyper-local" news on which you won't find coverage outside the area. I suspect Ridgewood and Glen Rock residents would be very interested in an assault at a local bank in town. Surprisingly the ensuing discussion in the comments was actually high-minded and based on facts and not emotion.
Macko D April 8, 2014 at 09:54 pm
DD - agreed for sure. More of this local interest news would make the Patch a better medium. I'mRead More rather new at this so I don't know how to give this feedback to the writer, Jessica Mazzola. Thanks for your thoughts and although we will I'm sure disagree at times, I do appreciate your intelligent points.
DD April 8, 2014 at 10:43 pm
Apologies for the multiple deletions (edits aren't a part of the Patch's functionality, which isRead More just as well)... If people don't disagree, in an intelligent and thoughtful manner, then they should be ignored. It's refreshing to see a contributor not resorting to and relying on links and media-fed talking points. Real discussion trumps all of that superficial nonsense. I hope we can make the Patch, and, by extension, real and meaningful discourse, better, by keeping that type of thing out of the equation.

Another gapping whole in the SSdisability system where payments are handed out like candy forRead More "head" injuries to perfectly healthy recipients who are looking for an easy payout.
Tee Smyth April 4, 2014 at 11:01 am
I respectfully disagree, Barbara. Payments are not handed out like candy in theRead More "SSdisability" system for "head" injuries. It is actually quite difficult to be found disabled.

It's a joke. Do comments on the patch have to "relate to the topic?" Is this writtenRead More anywhere?
RB March 29, 2014 at 04:14 pm
DD No, but perhaps it should be. Stay on topic, otherwise what's the point. Post anythingRead More wherever you want. Hey, how about those Knicks!
DD March 29, 2014 at 04:18 pm
As this story is related to major back-ups and there is another story related to major back-ups itRead More would be pretty easy to make the case that the joke (another reminder) is related. If the subject of the the joke was not related to this story, it would not have been funny. As far as your question of "what's the point" it's pretty obvious that there is very little value in comments on the Patch on the whole.

Dan P April 5, 2014 at 09:50 pm
The TMZ video I just watched showed what it looked like to be Ray Rice pulling his drunk fiance outRead More of an elevator. He may have been mad at her and had a fight with her but I doubt he had intent to severely harm her or I'm sure she would be in critical condition right now. I am not a football fan or a Ray Rice fan.... I'm just calling it like it is.

For the record, body parts were not randomly/individually flying around. Secondly, I think theRead More person responsible for the title of this article, should be reprimanded and owes this family an apology.

DD March 28, 2014 at 10:01 am
Macko, you really don't live in fear of having a family member sexually assaulted if left at homeRead More alone for a few minutes, do you?
Macko D March 28, 2014 at 11:05 am
DD - no, I don't live "in fear" of such an incident, and I'm thinking that it's quite leapRead More from discussing a car break-in to sexual assault. If there were were a rash of sexual assaults reported, I would naturally be much more attuned to that. Car break-ins, the incidences of pedestrians being hit by cars, and even house break-ins are, to my knowledge far more prevalent. I'm just a believer in a little prevention where possible. As far as a house break-in and/or sexual assault, that's when having a weapon is a good idea. I thank you for sharing your ideas in a constructive and civilized manner.

William McCaw
Gordo K March 26, 2014 at 05:21 pm
Lousy reporting. No mention whatsoever as to how or why they've charged this guy.
FIMF the ll March 26, 2014 at 05:36 pm
From NBC news: Middlesex County prosecutors said Timothy Puskas, 38, is being charged with murderRead More for the death of William McCaw, a 22-year-old Kean University student who was found Feb. 15 outside a New Brunswick home. He died of blunt force trauma, authorities said. Prosecutors did not elaborate on what allegedly happened between Puskas and McCaw, but a spokesman said the preliminary investigation indicated they did not know each other.
