The two other Ridgewood bakeries are happy Buddy Valastro is in town, nj.com reports.

The competition doesn't mind Buddy Valastro's presence in Ridgewood – if anything, they're embracing it. Izzy Yanay, whose wife is owner and head baker of Sook Pastry, and Agron Sadikaj, co-owner, of Heidi's Finest German Bakery, told nj.com that Carlo's Bake Shop will bring much needed business to Ridgewood. Villagers and visitors can now purchase Italian, French and German pastries. "We will see what the future brings, but I think this is really the first town which serves quality products from all the different countries of Europe," Sadikaj told the website.

Report: 'Cake Boss' Bakery Opening Delayed

Buddy Valastro and his crew will be opening slightly later than had originally been anticipated.

Eager fans of the hit TLC show 'Cake Boss' will have to wait just a little bit longer to sample the cakes and treats at Carlo's Bakery, according to a recent report. Star of the show Buddy Valastro has been familiarizing himself more with Ridgewood -- he stopped by Bookends last week to promote his new Italian cookbook. "We expect to do very well in Ridgewood," Valastro previously told Patch. "We have some really cool offerings at this new location, like a custom cake bar…

Buddy and his "Cake Boss" crew are eyeing a late November opening for the 3,300 square foot bakery. "I'm from Little Ferry, NJ, so I'm familiar with the Ridgewood area," Valastro told Patch. "A lot of people in the Upper Bergen County area are intimidated by the line on Washington St. and after looking at a few spots we chose Ridgewood as our second Carlo's Bakery location."
