If perhaps the most dysfunctional Congress in history needs an example in civics, they should take a trip up to Glen Rock, according to Councilwoman Joan Orseck. Sworn in to a third term with fellow incumbent Carmine Nogara Wednesday night at the borough's reorganization meeting, Orseck highlighted one key to good governance. "We argue, don't agree but we compromise and get things done. I only wish the people in Washington could compromise and do their jobs," she said before raucous applauds drowned out her voice. Messages of effective leadership and a willingness to work through issues rang out consistently at the annual reorganization meeting.
