Guy Tozzoli, Oversaw World Trade Center Construction, Dies at 90

Guy Tozzoli was the founder of the World Trade Centers Association and a longtime Westwood resident.

Guy Tozzoli, who founded the World Trade Centers Association and oversaw the construction and operation of the World Trade Center in Manhattan, died in his sleep Saturday, according to an obituary. He was 90. Tozzoli lived in Westwood for 60 years before moving to South Carolina two years ago, his son, Michael, told Patch. He began working for the Port Authority in 1946, taking a break to serve in the Navy from 1950 to 1952. Tozzoli then returned to the Port Authority and was named Director of World Trade in in 1962. It was "Tozzoli’s vision," according to the obituary, which led to the construction of the 110-story Twin Towers. "My dad was, in many ways, larger than life," Michael Tozzoli told Patch Tuesday.
