Roberto Rivera sued St. Vincent's hospital in 2007 after the hospital terminated him when he did not submit to a psychiatric evaluation in the wake of stalking allegations by a nurse.
A doctor charged Saturday with possessing a large quantity of chemicals used in bomb-making spent 15 years on the staff of a Manhattan hospital until he was fired in 2006 for refusing to submit to a psychiatric evaluation when a nurse accused him of stalking her, court records show. Roberto Rivera, 60, was charged with recklessly creating a risk of widespread injury or damage after federal and local authorities found precursor chemicals used in the making of explosives in the basement of a Ridgewood house, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said in a release Saturday afternoon. Filmmaker: 'Occupy Wall Street' is bigger than NYC, and he hopes to help it grow
Filmmaker Michael Moore came to Bookends on Monday at 6 p.m. to promote his new book, Here Comes Trouble: Stories from My Life, but spent far more time pressing those in attendance to form their own Occupy Wall Street movements in their hometowns. The "Capitalism: A Love Story" creator said to an enthralled crowd that he was "very optimistic and hopeful" about the Occupy Wall Street and its recent rallies in Nyack, NY; Salem, OR, and smaller towns throughout the country. "In this movement, everyone's a leader," he said.
