'Confusing' Power Situation Caused by PSE&G, Mayor Says
More homes are without power Sunday than were on Saturday despite the utility claiming full restoration by midnight.
The following message was drafted by Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn and sent to village residents Sunday morning. Restoring power to Ridgewood has and remains our number priority in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. We fully recognize the hardship being faced by many Ridgewood families and are doing everything possible to mitigate it. The storm did considerable damage to Ridgewood. Immediately following the hurricane, it was estimated that over 70% of the Village was without power. That included Valley Hospital and the Ridgewood Water Company. (Both have since been restored.) The Willard area was a warzone and PSE&G handled, or more appropriately "didn't handle", it in a manner which borders on reckless endangerment of residents.   more ›
