Smash-and-Grab Burglar Strikes Glen Rock Chinese Restaurant

Burglar's method is similar to that of a suspect cops believe is responsible for hundreds of commercial burglaries across North Jersey.

An unknown crook bashed in the front door at Peking Garden, emptied the cash register and disappeared into the night, according to Glen Rock Police. Glen Rock Sgt. Christopher McInerney discovered the shattered glass door at the Chinese takeout restaurant next to Food Basics on Lincoln Avenue while making routine patrol rounds just before 3 a.m. on Tuesday. According to Cpt. Jonathan Miller, the individual took about $100 from the register. There is no video surveillance of the smash-and-grab nor any witnesses that could provide a description of a suspect, Miller said.
