Party faithful say the governor hit all the right marks in his prime-time address to the nation.
In a speech that was both biographical and also touched upon the Republicans' vision for the country, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was in the limelight Tuesday as he delivered the keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. And state delegates who were in the St. Pete Times Forum who listened to his speech said the governor struck just the right tone in making his case for presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Republican delegates attending the party's national convention in Tampa this week anticipate the governor's time in the spotlight.
Delegates from across New Jersey who are representing the Garden State at the Republican National Convention share their thoughts on what they hope the rest of the country will learn from Gov. Chris Christie's keynote.
The governor is scheduled to address the Republican National Convention between 10 and 11 p.m.

By Mark Magyar, NJ Spotlight Eight years ago, an obscure Illinois state senator with a foreign-sounding name gave a keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention that drew an audience of 9.1 million, mostly on PBS, CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. The major networks — ABC, CBS, and NBC — passed up the speech, although some of their Chicago affiliates ran it live, much to the chagrin of Republican Alan Keyes who was then running against the relatively unknown Barack Obama for a U.S. Senate seat in Illinois.
