Former Ridgewood Teacher Dies at 89

Rosemary Rozema taught in Ridgewood schools for three decades.

A former Ridgewood teacher died Sunday at the age of 89, according to her obituary. Rosemary Rozema taught for 33 years, spending most of her career at Somerville and Willard elementary schools. She retired in 1988. Rozema volunteered at Valley Hospital's Kurth Cottage and at Christian Healthcare Center in Wyckoff. The Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church parishioner lived in Ridgewood for almost 60 years. She leaves behind three children, two brothers and grandchildren. Her funeral service is scheduled for Thursday at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff at 11 a.m.

I had Mrs Rozema for kindergarten in the early 80's. she was a wonderful teacher and such a caring woman. I'm lucky to have had her and sad to hear of her passing.   more ›
