Looking for a new boss? Why not the Cake Boss?
Just a week after it was confirmed that Buddy Valastro and his band of bakers will be opening up a branch of Carlo's Bakery in Westfield, signs that the 'Cake Boss' is coming to town are starting to emerge. Banners, decorated with cupcakes and other confections, were being posted at 21 East Broad St. Friday to let the community know Carlo's Bakery is hiring. Is Buddy Valastro's new bake shop a good addition to the village?
If you didn't know any better, you might have mistakened the scene outside 12 Wilsey Square for Washington Street in Hoboken. 'Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro opened his second Carlo's Bakery in Ridgewood Sunday morning. Despite his aims to craft the Ridgewood location as less touristy than the original Hoboken store, the lines wrapped down the block. Fans glued their faces to the window while Buddy crafted Carlo's famous cakes with staff and family. Ridgewood council and chamber of commerce members were on hand to cut the red ribbon with Valstro under the spectre of media cameras and television crews from TLC's hit show "Cake Boss". Reality TV star will be saying hello to Ridgewood in February.
'Cake boss' Buddy Valastro will finally be bringing the cakes and cameras to Ridgewood. The Hoboken-based television star will be opening his second Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 12 Wilsey Square. Valastro announced this past fall that he had big plans to open his second bakery to serve customers tired of two-hour lines. "We expect to do very well in Ridgewood," Valastro previously told Patch. "We have some really cool offerings at this new location, like a custom cake bar and a party room for kids to have birthday parties. We're excited about the opportunities." Mid-January is the new projection for the Ridgewood location of Carlo's Bake Shop
Originally poised to open around the holidays, Carlo's Bakery won't open until mid-January, according to a report on the Second Helpings blog by Record food writer Elisa Ung. Buddy Valastro and his crew will be opening slightly later than had originally been anticipated.
Eager fans of the hit TLC show 'Cake Boss' will have to wait just a little bit longer to sample the cakes and treats at Carlo's Bakery, according to a recent report. Various impacts from Hurricane Sandy have pushed back the opening of the Hoboken-bred bakery's to December, a spokesman for Carlo's told northjersey.com. The bakery had planned to open in late November at the historic "Playhouse" buliding at 12 Wilsey Square in Ridgewood. Famed "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro will be setting up shop in Ridgewood's downtown, Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop confirmed to Patch. According to Valastro, the Hoboken tourist attraction will be opening another bakery at 12 Wilsey Square in Ridgewood, known as "The Playhouse Theater" building. Buddy and his "Cake Boss" crew are eyeing a late November opening for the 3,300 square foot bakery. "I'm from Little Ferry, NJ, so I'm familiar with the Ridgewood area," Valastro told Patch.
