Fighting Pit Bulls Injure Three in Ridgewood
Two playmate pitbulls entangled on Best Court Thursday afternoon; their owners were injured attempting to separate the dogs.
Three people suffered minor injuries when they attempted to subdue two fighting pit bulls outside a Ridgewood home Thursday afternoon, village police said. It's the second reported incident of violence involving a dog in as many months in Ridgewood. According to police, at about 3:30 p.m. a 31-year-old woman brought her pit bull to play with another pit bull residing on Best Court. The canines were described as frequent playmates without any documented history of violence, police told Patch. At some point, the dogs began fighting. The two Best Court residents, a 19-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, sustained bites to their hands and arms while trying to separate the dogs. First of all all dogs have teeth and can bite.I have a Lab and a Pit and they are big .It is my responsibility to keep them safe from people . People and their ignorance of dogs is wow to me.
