Veteran Glen Rock Teachers Turn In Retirement Papers
The current school year will be the last for Donna Vander Wende and Rosanne Annillo.
Two long-time Glen Rock educators will be retiring at the end of the 2012-2013 school year. According to the school board's Jan. 21 agenda, Donna Vander Wende will be calling it a career after 25 years in the district. Vander Wende teaches 7th grade science at the middle school. She will receive up to $13,840 in separation pay, the agenda states. Rosanne Annillo, an 8th grade social studies teacher at GRMS, will be retiring after serving Glen Rock for 29 years. She's entitled to $2,640 in separation pay.

I don't understand why some people feel that teachers don't deserve their negotiated benefits. Nobody questions huge athletic salaries that are negotiated but when a teacher has worked 30 years helping your children, their pension benefits become questionable. They worked for it, both sides signed a contract, they deserve it. GRHS Class of 1971   more ›
