Pedestrian Struck Near Ridgewood Train Station

Victim transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with complaints of back and leg pain.

A 24-year-old woman crossing the street near the Ridgewood Train Station unexpectedly found herself on the hood of an Oradell woman's car, according to Ridgewood police.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the victim was in the crosswalk traveling from the train station toward Garber Square when a 21-year-old Oradell woman heading east bound on W. Ridgewood Avenue did not see the pedestrian and struck her, Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward said.

The victim, who hit the hood of the car, complained of leg and back pain. She was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center by Ridgewood EMS. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, Ward said.

The driver was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The driver's identity was not immediately available, as the report had not been completed at the time of publication.
