Renowned Chef to Lead Kitchen of New Ridgewood Tapas Restaurant

Cravings Tapas Bistro will have a global feel, Second Helpings reports.

A lauded chef with an eye for globally-inspired tapas will soon be opening in the space that once held Marcello's at the Station.

According to The Record's Second Helpings food blog, chef Michael Merida will be heading the kitchen of Cravings Tapas Bistro on Godwin Avenue.

Merida, who lives in Bergen County, has worked in some of the world's top kitchens, including Maize CantinaVongPark Avenue CafeRyu Gin and Plaza Athenee. Merida opened Westwood's "Mezza" last year to much fanfare.

The menu at Cravings will feature "global fare" and a New Jersey wine list, Second Helpings reports. Sources tell Patch the restaurant will not have a full liquor list and should be open by early fall.
