Ex-North Jersey Chiropractors Sentenced to Probation for Insurance Scheme

Craig Klein, of Ridgewood, plead guilty last year and was ordered to serve five years probation Monday.

Three former New Jersey chiropractors were sentenced to five years probation Monday for bilking more than two dozen insurance companies out millions of dollars, according to a northjersey.com report.

Charles Nisivoccia, of Little Falls, Marco Esposito, of Haledon, and Craig Klein, of Ridgewood, were also ordered by a Paterson judge to forfeit their medical licenses for five years, northjersey.com reported.

Nisivoccia and Klein, were ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution. Esposito was ordered to pay $50,000. The penalties will be distributed to victim’s insurance companies, according to the report.

In October, the men pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking. 

Klein had previous convictions for similar schemes in 2003 in Essex County and in Massachusetts in 2008. The state suspended his license to practice in 2005, according to a Ridgewood-Glen Rock Patch report from October 2012.

“I accept 100 percent responsibility for my actions and I would like to apologize to all my victims,” Klein said, according to the northjersey.com report Monday.
