Officer Allegedly Assaulted by Wanted Ridgewood Man

The 20-year-old Ridgewood man had been wanted on a warrant out of Saddle River, according to police.

A Ridgewood man wanted on a warrant out of Saddle River was charged this week with assaulting a village police officer, authorities said Wednesday.

Ridgewood Lt. Glenn Ender, Officer Kyle Finch and Officer Sean Amoruso responded to a call at the Best Court residence of Anthony Ventura around 12:30 Tuesday morning, according to police.

When police attempted to take Ventura into custody on an active warrant out of Saddle River, they claim the 20-year-old resisted arrest, assaulting Finch in the process.
