Glen Rock Introduces New Middle School Asst. Principal

Brian Pepe started July 16 at Glen Rock Middle School.

A veteran educator in the Hackensack school district will take over as middle school assistant principal in Glen Rock, according to Glen Rock schools.

Brian Pepe, a special education teacher at Hackensack High School, took over for former GRMS assistant principal Brian Hutchinson on July 16, the district said in a statement to the press.

“Mr. Pepe surfaced as the top candidate in our search for a Middle School Assistant Principal,” said Glen Rock Superintendent Paula Valenti. “He brings a well-rounded career experience to the Glen Rock Middle School.”

Pepe began his education career in 2005 as a special education teacher for social studies and math in Hackensack. Five years later, he moved to Hackensack High School, working as the lead teacher for technology and iPad integration, Glen Rock school officials said. In 2011, he became the special education supervisor/coordinator of Hackensack Academy for Student Success, an alternative high school.

The new assistant principal received bachelors and masters degrees in education and also holds certificates in education supervising and as a principal.
