Books, Bytes & Beyond Closing Store

Glen Rock children's book store relocating to basement to focus on serving schools and libraries.

Glen Rock's will be closing its bricks and mortar operation in late April, but don't be mistaken – the iconic children's book store isn't shutting down.

Instead, Books, Bytes and Beyond will be relocating downstairs at its current Rock Road location to focus on serving schools and libraries with curriculum materials, owner and Glen Rock resident Mary Brown said.

Laura Bush, J.K. Rowling, and Julie Andrews are among the countless famous writers to have stopped by 197 Rock Road in its 20 years in business. Although the storefront will be closed in a few weeks time, Books, Bytes and Beyond will still be bringing authors to various events, while also selling books from its downsized new digs.

"We're still in business and we still want to serve people as much as possible," said Brown. "If they want to get on our e-newsletter, they certainly can and will find out about new titles and autographed book opportunities that we're putting out there."

The phone number (201-670-6766) and email address (booksbytes@aol.com) will not be changing. There's no hard closing date, but late April is the current target.
