Ducks Cut the Ribbon

District celebrated end of construction at Hawes Elementary School

Proud members of the Ridgewood education community descended on Stevens Avenue on Wednesday night to cut the ribbon in celebration of referendum completion at Hawes Elementary School.

Approved by voters in December of 2009, the $48M referendum featured additions and expansions to many of the district's nine schools. Hawes was no exception. The addition to Hawes adds about 9,000 square feet of space to the school, containing five classrooms and an instructional room.

With the new additon, special education students can now attend classes all in the same building, Superintendent Dr. Daniel Fishbein said at the ceremony.
