1) “Wild Things” actress Denis Richards will be at Bookends today to sign her new book, titled “The Real Girl Next Door.” The fun begins at 7:00 p.m., but Patch anticipates long lines for this one so you might want to arrive earlier to save your spot.
2) There is “Safari Sightseeing” craft time at the library at 11:00 a.m. today.
3) Ridgewood resident Frank Sheehy has been elected to the Valley Hospital board of trustees. He is President of Accredo, Medco’s $12 Billon Specialty Pharmacy business, and a member of Medco’s Executive Committee, brining more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry to Valley.

4) It’s going to be 87 degrees and sunny today, with – and we never thought we’d say this – unfortunately no chance of rain. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that those tanks have a chance to fill up soon and end the water shortage.
5) Today is junk day (for the East Side, at least)! Put out your auto batteries, tires, and metals for pickup, and take a walk down the block to see what weird stuff your neighbors are getting rid of.
