Secret Gardens Tour Set to Return to Ridgewood

Biennial event typically draws hundreds of spectators.

The following was recently posted on the Ridgewood Municipal website.

The Secret Gardens Tour of Ridgewood 2014, presented by The Women Gardeners of Ridgewood (WGR), is happening Sunday June 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine.

The Secret Gardens Tour is a self-guided tour of nine amazing private gardens in the Village. Beginning at the Ridgewood Public Library garden which was designed, planted and maintained by the Women Gardeners, the tour is a much anticipated biennial event that draws hundreds of people from near and far.

The private gardens on tour this year showcase artistry in nature and design principles suited to each property. They display the owners’ civic pride and individual style: elegant to playful, serene to exciting, charming to practical, yin and yang. The tour is the primary fundraiser for the WGR.

Proceeds support GREEN KIDS (grades 3-5), annual Environmental Achievement Awards for high school seniors and planting & maintaining many Ridgewood public gardens and parks in addition to other charitable special projects.

Founded in 1925, the Women Gardeners is a New Jersey nonprofit organization with a long standing tradition of serving the community and Bergen County.

Tickets: $25 advance sale and $30 after May 28, 2014. This cost is tax deductible. For tickets call 201-560-9977 or go to womengardenersofridgewood.com.

The Women Gardeners give much thanks to our generous homeowners and community sponsors.
