Two Ridgewood Neighborhoods Named Among Richest NYC Suburbs

Ranking is based on median household income.

Two neighborhoods in Ridgewood have been named among the 25 richest suburbs of NYC on a new list compiled by Business Insider.

The list, ‘The 25 Richest Neighborhoods in the New York City Suburbs,’ was compiled based on a ranking of the richest suburbs across the United States, recently put together by Stephen Higley, a professor emeritus of urban social geography at the University of Montevallo. Higley’s list is based on median household income from American Community Survey and Census data from 2006 to 2010.

On the NYC list, the Heights and the West End in Ridgewood ranked #19. The ranking cites a median household income of $396,574 and says overall, those neighborhoods are the 58th richest in the United States.
