An award-winning Glen Rock theater company is teaming up with a Ridgewood elementary school for a youth production of Oliver! this weekend.
Porch Light Productions, now in its fifth year in Glen Rock, is venturing out of its borough theater with the production to work with the Orchard Elementary School Drama Club.
Directed by Ridgewood resident Ryan Pifher, the owner of the theater, and starring fourth and fifth graders at the school, the show is free and open to the public.
The theater company has run several other youth programs with students in the area.
Oliver!, based on the Dickens novel Oliver Twist, follows an orphan street urchin in 19th century London who gets involved with a shady group of child pickpockets, but later seeks to reunite with a long lost wealthy relative.
The one-time performance begins at 7 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium at Orchard, located at 230 Demarest Street in Ridgewood.
