7-11 Proposed in Ridgewood

Convenience store would take over the Shell gas station on the highway.

If approval comes from the zoning board, a 7-11 will soon replace the Shell station on Franklin Turnpike and Route 17.

The company will be appearing on Jan. 22 requesting variances for setbacks and signs. A combined gas station/convenient store is currently prohibited in the Office Business (OB2) zone; variances allowing its use are also being sought.

According to plans filed with the zoning board, the gas station at 657 Franklin Turnpike would be redeveloped to accommodate at 2,400 sq ft. convenience store.
