Ridgewood Eateries Score High in ‘Best of Bergen’ Voting

Village earned more nods for its array of restaurants than most other Bergen towns.

Which Ridgewood restaurants do you think attract the most out of town diners?

Bergen Health & Life magazine asked readers from around the county to weigh in on dining options for its annual vote on the “Best of Bergen,” and Ridgewood hit high in the rankings with 15 distinctions, second only to Westwood in the polls.

Breakfast is a big attraction in the village, with Raymond’s and Country Pancake House taking second and third place in the category, behind Ramsey’s Buono Bagels. The pancake house's flapjacks were voted the best in the county, and the Daily Treat earned the nod for third best Bergen diner.

And voters recognized village eateries for the full range of ethnic options. Brooklyn Pizza was voted the county’s best pizzeria, while Brick Lane earned the nod for best Indian and Latour tied with Harvest Bistro and Bar in Closter for the distinction of best French cuisine. Sakura Bana and Ridge Thai ranked in their respective categories, and voters named the hummus at Lisa’s Turkish Kitchen the third best in Bergen.

Park West Tavern ranked high among the county's steak restaurants, and Broad Street based Super Cellars nabbed the distinction of best Bergen cheese shop.

Looking for dessert? The gelato at A Mano is beat by few, according to voters, and the cookies at Sook are second only to Sugar Flake Bake Shop in Westwood. The best ice cream in Bergen, voters said, can be found at Van Dyk’s.

Bergen Health & Life readers ranked the county’s eateries in 56 categories, ranging from bagels to chicken wings, and from most kid-friendly atmosphere to best interior design. You can find the full survey results here.
