Sook, Heidi's Welcoming 'Cake Boss' with Open Arms

The two other Ridgewood bakeries are happy Buddy Valastro is in town, nj.com reports.

The competition doesn't mind Buddy Valastro's presence in Ridgewood – if anything, they're embracing it.

Izzy Yanay, whose wife is owner and head baker of Sook Pastry, and Agron Sadikaj, co-owner, of Heidi's Finest German Bakery, told nj.com that Carlo's Bake Shop will bring much needed business to Ridgewood.

Villagers and visitors can now purchase Italian, French and German pastries.

"We will see what the future brings, but I think this is really the first town which serves quality products from all the different countries of Europe," Sadikaj told the website.

Sook is great for lunch. I haven't had their baked goods, but they look great. A friend gave me some of Carlo's stuff. I thought it was good as well, though it wasn't the orgasmic experience I was expecting given how many patch readers droll over him.

Sook's pastry is still up to the same high quality it was when she arrived. She is an expert chef. I love when chefs here don't underestimate their clientele. There are things I've eaten there I could say were as good as the best I've tried in excellent bakeries of France or Austria. I am looking forward to trying Heidi's Bakery. I think it's wonderful that we now have such a variety of sweets here in the Village!

So far, I have observed the following; People going to and from the NJ Transit train to visit Carlo's, some stopping by local stores with their already goodies purchases, car travelers feeding the parking meters and our meter person writing numerous tickets. Cannoli's are great. Get the small, only $2.00 each. Large are $3.00.
