The trees are decorated in their sparkling finery and the room is aglow with the signs of the season thanks to the very capable and creative hands of the seniors at the Holland Home. I am always amazed at the talent and generosity of the residents who show no signs of slowing down. They are faith-driven, vital and give and give and give, like the woman I met on our last visit who makes hats for children and adults diagnosed with cancer at Valley Hospital. I think she has already delivered at least a thousand! And so when we visit with our pretty dogs, many whom I have certified through The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, we receive smiles, share stories and make new friends. And it is a great day...for in giving we receive. I guess that is what these seniors have taught all of us. Our next visit is this Thursday at 3:30 pm and Saturday at 10 am.
