Halloween in November

Ridgewood parents throw their own Halloween after Sandy canceled previous plans.

For the second year in a row, stormy weather threatened to put a damper on trick-or-treating. But even though Halloween was officially cancelled this year, Ridgewood residents on Heights Road and Woodland Avenue got together to open their doors for about 75 neighborhood children.

"It was great to see so many people rally their Halloween spirit once more after all the power outages and damaged homes," said Kathy Skrzypczak, who organized the Halloween in November. "I think the smiles on the kids' faces tell the rest of the story."
