Georgette Pfund Dies at Age 72
The mother of former mayor David Pfund, Georgette Pfund was active at Our Lady Mt. Carmel, and with the College Club.
Georgette Marie (nee Ruffino) Pfund of Ridgewood and Harvey Cedars, NJ died at the age of 72 on June 6, according to a death notice issued Sunday.
An avid bridge player who was active at , Georgette was married to L. Robert Pfund for 50 years. Her son David is the former mayor of Ridgewood. Georgette is survived by children Jerry and Becky of Ho-Ho-Kus, Gina of Ridgewood, Cathy and Amvrosios Ioannidis of Ho-Ho-Kus. She leaves behind grandchildren Sarah, Luke, Jack, Ryan, and sisters Antoinette Hobatuk, Ida Zito, and Mary Domine.
Georgette obtained a degree in communications from Ramapo College, was a member of the Ridgewood Country Club and Hackensack Golf Club, as well as the College Club. She is a former board member of Talbott Perkins Adoption Agency.

Her funeral is being held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, followed by internment at Valleau Cemetary. The public is invited to the funeral. Visiting will be held Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at at 232 Franklin Avenue.
