Lifelong Ridgewood Artist Hildegarde B. Steen Dead at 86

Ridgewood's Hildegarde B. Steen (nee Buckner) died June 14 at the age of 86, according to her obituary.

Steen leaves behind children William Steen, Andrew Steen, Edward Steen, Savannah Perez-Carillo and nine grandchildren.

A successful artist, Steen was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, where she was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. According to her obituary, she was also involved in the Asian-American Cultural Society in Ridgewood.

A memorial mass has not yet been scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 2009-6011. Funeral arrangements are being made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood.
