Accused Serial Burglar Targeted Glen Rock, Police Say

A Paterson man eyed by authorities for allegedly committing a string of burglaries in Bergen, Passaic and Morris counties targeted the Borough of Glen Rock in late January, say.

According to a statement by police, Corey L. Porcelli, 27 of Paterson, was charged Feb. 6 with one count of Criminal Attempt (burglary – 3rd degree) and one count of Criminal Mischief (4th degree).

The GRPD say Porcelli made efforts to , attempting to kick in a door but did not make entry. But police say he did leave evidence at the scene which prompted them to file charges.

Porcelli was  after Wayne police found him hiding behind the  furniture store in Wayne. A resident caught Porcelli attempting to break into his Sheffield Road home earlier that day, police reported.

The Paterson man is also wanted for or a suspect in numerous other burglaries in Bloomingdale, Allendale, Ringwood, West Milford, Roxbury, Jefferson, Mt. Arlington, and Wanaque.

Porcelli is being held on a combined $760,000 bail at the county jail. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is handling the case.
