Car Window Smashed, GPS Stolen in Ridgewood

An Oradell resident told police a man burglarized his car at 1200 E. Ridgewood Ave, police said.

A window was broken and a GPS stolen from a car parked at Ridgewood's largest office complex last Thursday, according to .

Police say an Oradell resident observed a white male bashing in the window of the vehicle, taking a GPS and fleeing. A detective did not respond to further inquiries.

It's not the first time vehicles have been broken into at 1200 E. Ridgewood Ave., known as the Duck Pond building.

In Sept. 2011, a Ridgewood woman parked at the building and returning to find the passenger side window smashed. Her pocket book and laptop were reported stolen.

Days later, police responded to another , across the street. They found stolen purses in a dumpster near the vehicle. No suspects were ever caught.
