Police are looking for a man they say climbed into a Ridgewood home through a window in the middle of the night and made off with a bunch of expensive electronics.
According to a statement from Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward, a man climbed through the window of an Oak Street home at about 3:50 a.m. last Tuesday.
The resident was asleep on the couch, woke up while the burglar was still there, and confronted him, Ward said.
The burglar ran out of the rear door of the house with two stolen laptops and a cell phone in tow, police said.
Village officers conducted a K-9 unit search of the area last Tuesday, but were unable to locate the man, police said.
Ward said an ongoing investigation into this incident is being conducted by the Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
