Do You 'Like' the GRPD?

Stay up to date on the latest Glen Rock police news at the site's Facebook page

Did you know the local municipal police force is social media savvy?

Since November, the force has typed up about 40 messages on Facebook, the latest effort the police is undertaking to keep the lines of communication open with residents.

Messages range from blotter-type updates on recent burglaries in the area, reminders on road closings and requests for help in solving cases or being on the lookout for suspicious individuals.

"As we move into the twenty-first century, the Glen Rock Police Department, while not forgetting the traditions of the past, is taking innovative strides in technology to stay current with the concerns of the community it serves," a message on its 'info' page reads.

If you'd like to stay up to date with the latest GRPD news, 'like' the force on Facebook. Nearly 170 have done so already.

Police also recommend visiting its website at Glenrockpolice.com. The website, Captain Jonathan Miller said, doesn't have the same "fluidity" as the Facebook site, but will be seeing some changes in the near future.
