An 18-year-old Glen Rock woman discovered an intruder peering down on her from the stairs of her South Maple Avenue home Sunday afternoon, according to .
The 18-year-old was home alone Sunday when she heard a knock at the door at 2:25 p.m., Cpt. Jonathan Miller said. The woman did not open the door and less than five minutes later discovered the intruder, described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, in the hallway at the top of the stairs, Miller said.
The resident asked who he was and according to the report, he told her he was there from "Fair Lawn Landscaping".
She called her mother to see if anyone was scheduled to arrive at the house and upon hearing no appointment was scheduled, asked the man to leave. He complied without incident, Miller reported. The intruder entered the home through an unlocked door, according to police.
Police were dispatched to search for the man but he was not found, Miller said. No record of Fair Lawn Landscaping existing could be found.
No valuables of the home were found to be disturbed, Miller said. Police are investigating the incident.
