Nasty Winds Topple Tree in Glen Rock

One pole, two street lights were damaged on Grove Avenue

Crews from PSE&G and Asplundh Tree responded to a tree felled by high winds on Grove Avenue in Glen Rock Thursday morning, according to witness Boyd Loving.

One utility pole snapped when the tree fell, Loving said. The PSE&G troubleshooter on the scene reportedly said power was not lost. However, two street lights were damaged in the incident.

Traffic on Grove Street was detoured while crews attended to the mess, Loving said.

A high wind advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Asplundh ! was it a PRIVATE tree? it's only blocking the road....I think Asplundh and PSEG were acting a little agressive in removing it b4 thinking about the tree's feelings......i mean, it JUST fell down...
