A man facing multiple aggravated assault charges after allegedly spitting blood on Glen Rock police officers while being arrested last year was indicted Tuesday, NorthJersey.com reported.
According to the report, Edward F. Guy, 31, of Wanaque, was a passenger in a minivan that was pulled over on Route 208 in December. Though the driver cooperated, Guy, who was described as “extremely intoxicated,” began yelling at swearing at the officers, the report said.
Cops said Guy, who was bleeding from the mouth, attempted to kick out the windows of a Glen Rock squad car, and spit on arresting officers, the report said. Police say he continued the behavior after being transported to Bergen Regional Medical center, trying to overturn a stretcher and attempting to kick a nurse, the report said.
According to NorthJersey.com, he was released last year on $50,000 bail.
Guy was indicted Tuesday on three counts of aggravated assault involving two police officers, and charges of resisting arrest, and throwing bodily fluid at an officer on duty, the report said. He will be arraigned in coming weeks, it said.
