Pedestrian Struck at Crosswalk in Front of Stop & Shop

Victim sustained non-life threatening injuries

[Editor's note: We initially reported that the victim sustained serious injuries, and have been corrected by police that they were non-life threatening].

A pedestrian was struck at a crosswalk between Franklin Ave. and Cottage Pl. at 8:15 p.m. today. It had been raining.

Sergeant Heath James confirmed the victim was alert and conscious when units arrived and had sustained non-life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital.

The driver was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Police were not able to comment on scene.
