Ridgewood Police Beat July 13-19: Stolen Parking Meter, Two Arrests, Graffiti

July 13

Stolen Parking Meter

A village employee reported the parking meter on Chestnut Street had been stolen. The matter is under investigation.

Marijuana Arrest

Detective Peter Youngberg responded to a suspicious vehicle on Cottage Place. The vehicle was found illegally parked, and while Youngberg was speaking to the driver, it was determined that a passenger in the vehicle was in possession of marijuana. Shawn Corcoran, 18, of Garfield was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was released pending a future appearance in Ridgewood Municipal Court.

July 14

Graffiti Incidents

Two incidents of graffiti were reported last week within a block of each other. The first was on a vehicle parked at the village compost facility on Lakeview Drive. The second incident was to a residence and car on Goffle Road—a road parallel to Lakeview. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.

July 19

Resident Arrested

Ptl. Kevin McKeon arrested Gene Lestingi, 51, of Ridgewood on an outstanding warrant from Paramus. The accused was turned over to the Paramus Police Department.
